There is a mountain bike park in the town, and you can take it for a spin to get your heart rate up. The Minturn Bike Park features a variety of trails for varying skill levels, including an easy beginner slope. The park is also equipped with play structures, picnic tables, and a climbing wall for the kids.
Lost Lake mountain bike trail
A popular mountain bike trail near Vail, Colorado, Lost Lake is a great day trip from Denver. It begins with a punchy section and continues through dry marshes and alpine meadows before ending in a steep descent. The views along the way are incredible. You can stay at the Lost Lake resort for food and refreshments. You should allow two to three hours for this out-and-back ride.
Tngnt Carve ski bike
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, you’ll enjoy riding a Tngnt Carve ski bike in the mountains of Vail. This specialized bike was designed to have similar features to a mountain bike, with the exception that you can attach a bottom bracket and cranks. Unlike a normal bicycle, however, this one is easy to operate and maintain.
Tngnt Carve
Learning to ‘Tngnt Carve’ is a great way to get your first taste of the mountains on a ski bike. Unlike a normal ski bike, you can lay it over your lap for stability, or you can prop it up vertically and attach a safety strap. In most cases, it takes two or three runs to become comfortable with this skill. But the Tngnt Carve is easier than it looks, and most existing snow boarders can make their first turn on their first hike up.
Freestyle parks
There are plenty of options for freestyle skiing and snow boarding at the Vail Freestyle Park. The baby park, located near the base area of the Avanti Express Lift, is a great place for little ones. It contains beginner rails and pint-sized boxes, which are the favorites of ski school instructor Jake Pates. The Bwana Park is another favorite, with a midsize jump line and larger-scale rails.
