If you’re looking for a great snow bike, there are several options. You can choose from the Kawaski KX450F or a conversion kit for a snow mobile. Timbersleds are also an option. Here are the pros and cons of each. A snowmobile is definitely better for speed on the snow than a bike, but there are some great options for beginners. We’ve included a few of our favorites below.
Kawaski KX450F
A Kawasaki KX450F BMX snow bike is the perfect winter sport machine. With its powerful engine and compact build, this motorcycle has become a top seller in the dirt bike industry. Its snow tire is especially popular among snow bikers, as it can easily transform from a snow machine to a dirt bike. The KX450F’s dual-mode front tire has four adjustable positions. The bike comes with a green exterior and an orange handlebar, which makes it easy to spot from afar.
Featuring a new electric start, the KX450F is an excellent entry-level model for young riders. It has an aluminum chassis for precise handling and features an integrated Timbersled Aro 120 kit. Its dual-purpose suspension is perfect for rough terrain and provides a precision feel while riding. Its manual clutch makes it easy to ride, even for kids with limited dirtbike experience.
Kawaski KX450F conversion kit
A Kawaski KX450F conversion kit makes your old BMX into a MX bike with ease and speed. Its dual sport fork is the same as that used in the KLX-450 and KX450. The KX450F also comes with a Y-piece for a custom fit and omits the relay switch for direct battery hookup.
This fork has a hybrid air/spring design, which adds a plusher ride at the top of the stroke while maintaining enough bottom resistance to absorb hard hits. This type of fork also includes a single air chamber and a solo air chamber. The KX450F is compatible with many other forks, including the Showa SFF TAC fork and the WP AER air fork.
Yeti 129
The Yeti 139 BMX snow bike is the next generation of the original. It features a carbon fibre chassis and an aerospace-grade carbon rear suspension that makes it easy to handle on trails and in deep snow. Other features include an integrated cargo rack and front mounted fuel tank. Designed to be easy to dismount and store, it will also feature a Syncrodrive belt drive system to keep reliability high.
For those looking for a new challenge, the Yeti 129 BMX snow bike is the perfect solution. It’s lightweight and easy to transport. It can be folded in 30 seconds and fits in virtually every trunk or gondola. The controls are easy to learn and intuitive. It’s available in different colors and models and is available in a variety of sizes. It’s a versatile machine for the winter season and a great choice for anyone who loves to hit the slopes.
Timbersled RIOT
The Timbersled RIOT BMX winter bike is designed to be a fast and fun ride for any level of rider. The RIOT’s suspension system combines proven Timbersled ARO technology with a new lightweight suspension rail. The new RIOT is built to climb, wheelie, and make split-line changes like a dirt bike. The lightweight aluminum construction means it’s easy to maintain and will give you many years of trouble-free use.
For the best performance in deep snow , the RIOT is the best choice. Its three-inch seat height reduces the overall height of the bike. The firmer shock offers better traction and makes wheelies easy. The RIOT is made for a wide variety of riding styles and is available in both men’s and women’s models. As with all Timbersled models, make sure to get avy trained and learn to use avalanche safety gear.
Honda CRF450RX
The 2020 Honda CRF450RX BMX winter bike comes with a host of new features. The new 450RR is lighter, more powerful, and easier to handle. The new HRC Launch Control helps riders choose the perfect traction map for their individual riding style. The resulting balanced power delivery and torque provide mellow throttle feel with aggressive power. The HRC setting tool helps riders tweak the mapping hardware and software for maximum performance.
The CRF450RX’s wheelbase feels smaller than that of the KTM. This means that minor changes in body position can have a huge impact on the CRF450RX. Likewise, the 2.1-gallon fuel tank is less of a hindrance than it was in years past. And, the rider’s seat is much higher than that of many bikes.
