Now, when you piped the output of the ls command towards the less order, you can use the Up Arrow, Down Arrow and Web site Up and Page Straight down keys to scroll via the output of this ls command word.
Press the Down Arrow key several times; then the Up Arrow primary and then Web site Up and Page Low. A nice approach to view the files from the Linux file system!
Notice that just the item (directory and file) names turn up. You don’t check out any other facts, such as the proportions and time.
Press the letter “q” (without the quotes) to stop out of the much less command. Accomplish this after jogging each of the control examples below.
Now work the ls command along with the -l (for long) option to get a “long” and more comprehensive listing of those items in the etc directory.
